DMK President MK Stalin admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for treatment of kidney infection, removal of cyst
Muthuvel Karunanidhi Stalin (MK Stalin), the newly elected President of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party and son of former Chief Minister, late M. Karunanidhi was admitted to the Apollo Hospital in Chennai last night, for the treatment of kidney infection. Apparently, the 65 year old politician was feeling uneasiness at his residence in Alwarpet last night and was rushed to Apollo Hospital, TR Baalu, Principal Secretary of the DMK told the media.
Baalu said there was nothing critical about the health of Stalin and added that due to extensive tour, the latter was not able to do the routine medical check-up for the past two months. A team of doctors had examined the leader and he will be under observation for a couple of days, Baalu said. Meanwhile, in a separate bulletin issued by the hospital on Stalin’s health, it said that Stalin had to undergo a minor surgical procedure for the removal of a cyst from his right thigh. According to the bulletin, Stalin should be discharged during post lunch session. On August 28 this year, Stalin took over as DMK President from his father, the DMK patriarch who passed away on August 7.
