Ajitha T.G. bags the Special Jury Award from Dr. Sukumar Azhikode Tatvamasi Literary Awards 2018-19 for her collection of poems, The Instrument Box.
The book consists of 40 poems which covers a wide spectrum of topics including social injustice. Born in 1971 at Kundannur, Vadakkaamcherry in Thrishur District of Kerala, Ajitha is the daughter of T.K. Gopalan and Meenakshi. Pursuing her schooling from Saint Joseph UP School in Kundannur and GGHS in Vadakkamcherry and continuing her graduation and post graduation in English Literature from Vimala College College, Thrishur, Ajitha began writing from her college days, writing in magazines and weeklies. Currently, Ajitha is working as a Lecturer in the English Department of Shakthan Thampuran College in Thrishur.
Ajitha released two collection of poetry collections titled, Sangadamazha (2012) and Avishudha Murivukal (2015) and for the latter book, she received Nila Literary Award. Ajitha is married to C.R. Sasikumar, who is a Village Officer and the couple have two children, Hrithwik, who is pursuing his post graduation in cinematography and Hridya is pursuing B.Des course.
