#SureshNambath to succeed #MukundPadmanabhan as Editor of #TheHindu

Suresh Nambath to succeed Mukund Padmanabhan as Editor of The Hindu from March 1, 2019.

Suresh Nambath, the current National Editor of The Hindu, will succeed the outgoing Editor, Mukund Padmabhan in March 1, 2019. Mukund succeeded Siddharth Varadarajan, again a rank outsider, in March 2016 and steered the daily, bringing about many changes. A long term player, Suresh joined The Hindu 22 years ago, when he joined as Principal Correspondent and has donned many a caps since then. Suresh played a stellar role as coordinator and held leadership roles on the news as well as editorial besides opinion section. Joining The 140 year old English daily back in October 1996 as a Principal Correspondent, covering Tamil Nadu politics, Suresh went on to become Bureau Chief from July 2006 to till February 2012. Suresh was elevated as as Senior Associate Editor and Coordinating Editor in March 2014. The following year, he wa made the National Editor since October 2015, deputising for the Editor in his absence. The Board of Directors of The Hindu Publishing Group, while lauding Suresh’s leadership capabilities, more so with his integrity, sharp political perspective and many sided journalistic experience, recognised that he was the best placed to steer the age old daily editorially to a bright future.
