Dr R Sreelatha Varma wins IR Krishnan Methala Memorial Literary Award 2019

Malayalam poet and critic, Dr. R Sreelatha Varma is the winner of IR Krishnan Methala Literary Award 2019 for the collection poems, Suryane Varikumbol. The jury comprising of Puyappalli Tankgappan as Chairman, Dr. Kavitha Balakrishnan and Dr. MS Paul as members of the Jury Committee selected the award winning work. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs.10,000 and a Statue. The IR Krishnan Methala Memorial Literary Award 2019 will be conferred on Dr. R. Sreelatha Varma at an event to be held on February 10 evening 3.00 PM at Srekumara Samajam Hall in Kodungallur, Thrissur.

Sunil P Ilayidom has written the foreword of Sooryane Varaikumbol which has poems titled: Pookalangalkku, Kayangal, Nadappaatha, Balam, Katam, Peru, Maravi, Theemaram, Nrutham, Purappad, Chuvarukal, Pokkam, Samayam, Chinnam, Ninakku (Enikkum) and more. The collection has 61 poems. Saiktham Books has published this book and is priced at Rs.80. Sreelatha’s other works include Yathrikam consisting of 41 poems, Mazhavillil Illathathu consisting of 43 poems and Prathibimbangal Parayathirikkunnathu a literary study. A detailed feature of Dr. R.
