After successfully hosting ten days Talk Series on Mohiniyattam Art Form, Gowri Creations have started ten days of Online Mohiniyattam Festival, from August 14-23, 2020 with the noble intention of collecting funds to be distributed to the artists in need during the COVID-19 Lockdown.
Dinesh Koduvayur, President of Gowri Creations – Cultural Awareness Through Arts, is the man behind all this Mohiniyattam Mahotsavam. Scores of artists from across the world are taking part in this live dance festival, which are screened through Facebook page of Gowri Creations. Perhaps, this kind of endeavour is happening for the first time in the history of Mohiniyattam Art Form. The ten days of Talk Series elicited humongous response as the best of Mohiniyattam artists took part in the online event. In order to continue these kinds of efforts and helping those artists who are in financial distress during the pandemic, Gowri Creations have kick-started a donation drive, where the connoisseurs of art can contribute to the great cause. The details of the bank are given below:

In addition to the dance programmes, Gowri Creations’ aim is to promote various instrumental music, folk art forms, traditional arts, modern plays, talk series, panel discussions and more. Mohiniyattam Artist, Priya Babu welcomed the initiative and appealed to the fellow artists to contribute for a noble cause. Also, senior Kalamandalam artists such as Kalamandalam Suganthi, Guru Nirmala Pakicker and others wished this endeavour all success.
While speaking about the initiative of Gowri Creations, Guru Nirmala Panicker said: “The core idea of this initiative is to promote upcoming Mohiniyattam artists, which is really impressive. If an art has to grow in one place, requisite atmosphere should be there, excellent mentors should be available, adequate infrastructure to maintain the art form should also be there in place. In addition to that, dedicated students who are willing to persevere should also be in place. Only then the art form will continue to grow like the unending stream. I wish more such endeavours should be encouraged. I am not just restricting this initiative in the Mohiniyattam arena alone. Such initiatives should be taken to promote other art forms as well. For instance, for Kathakali, there is club to promote or for Koodiyattam, there is a centre to promote that art form. We have many art forms, which do not have organisations or clubs to back up. Hope, we are able to bring about a system where all the art forms are being able to be encouraged and promoted without losing its pristine glory. My blessings will always be there for all the young artists who are going to take part in Gowri Creations Mohiniyattam Online Festival.”
Starting from August 13, 2020 the dance programmes are streamed live on the Facebook page of Gowri Creations at 7.00 PM. On August 14, 2020 Simtha Rajan performed,
