The Malayalam movie State Bus, directed by Chandran Narikode, with the favourite stars of Malayalees, Santhosh Keezhatoor and Vigilesh in the lead is all set for release and will reach the audience soon.
Produced by I.B. Ravindran and Padmakumar under the banner of Studio C Cinemas, State Bus is the second flick to be directed by Chandran Narikode, while his debut directorial venture was Paathi (Half) which was a short in the arm for him as the film won several national and international laurels. Although, State Bus can be termed as a movie with the theme of travel, which also narrates the social politics through the conflicting realities of life, nevertheless, the cinema is set in a family setting. Therefore, State Bus can be termed as a family thriller with a heady mix of suspense, with gripping scenes that would make the audience sit on the edge of their seats. What’s more, the script of State Bus is laved with comedy in such a way that would entertain the audience with serious social issues that are plaguing the contemporary society. Furthermore, State Bus has succeeded in capturing the people and experiences we encounter in our everyday lives.
While talking about the film State Bus and its theme, Chandran Narikode, the Director of the movie tole The Indian News: “The saga of State Bus unfolds through the events that take place, when two policemen travel in a State Road Transport Corporation bus along with an accused from Kannur District of Kerala. The film progresses through a journey. The theme of State Bus revolves around an incident that takes place inside a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus. Obviously, State Bus goes through life’s moments of kindness, brotherhood and hatred. The film has been made in such a way that it entertains all cine-goers.”
The camera has captured the rural settings of North Kerala in all its panoramic splendors. Another novelty of this movie is the background score by the renowned music composer, Mohan Sitara, who is staging a come back after a sabbatical. The renowned veteran music composer, Vidyadharan Master has wielded music for State Bus, which is once again making this movie unique. ‘State Bus’ is also a class of its own film that stands out from the rest of the recent Malayalam films in terms of theme and expression. The location of the film, where the filming was done was set in various part of North Kerala.
The star cast includes Vijilesh, Santhosh Keezhatoor, Sibi Thomas, Sivadasan, Sadanandan, Kabani and several other new faces as well. The story and screenplay are by Pramod Koovery, DoP by Prasoon Prabhakar, Film Editing by Deejo P Varghese, Make-up by Peeyush Purushu, Art Direction by Madhu Vellavu, Project Designing by Dheeraj Bala, Costumes by Vijesh Viswam, Titles Design by Sreeni Purakkad and VFX by Jayesh K parameswaran.
While M. Mahadevan is the Colorist of this movie and PR Sumeran is the PRO, R Nandalal handled the Subtitles, Vinodkumar V.V., is the Production Executive, while M. Unnikrishnan, Prashanth Prasannan and Suresh Ramanthali have written the lyrics for the songs. The songs are rendered by Vijay Yesudas, Vidhyadharan Master and Jinsha Haridas. Vinod Plathottam is the still photographer of the movie.
