At 67, Sulochana, the National Higher Secondary School Kolathur retired Teacher renders songs without a trace of weariness
Age is just a number for this 67 years young retired music teacher of National High School Kolathur Sulochana
Sulochana Teacher, as she is reverentially addressed by her disciples as well as everyone known to her. After serving 38 odd years as a music teacher in a Government school, this passionate singer renders songs even at this ripe age of 67! For Sulochana Teacher, age is just a number, if you listen to her song, you will be convinced.
Sulochana Teacher, after successfully pursuing music from the then Palakkad Music Academy (Currently, this has been rechristened as Chembai Music College, Palakkad), Sulochana Teacher joined the National High School Kolathur in Malappuram District of Kerala State as music teacher. Even after her retirement, Sulochana Teacher is the mother for each student of the school she served for several decades. The students she had giving training in music have succeeded in the music world. In this beautiful song, written by her sister’s son U Jayakrishnan Puthan Veetil, an engineer based out of Dubai, Sulochana Teacher has rendered this song in a touching and poignant way. The lyrics are quite touching, elaborating on the romance of river and the sorrow of the shore, which was composed by her.
This was the light music song, written during the ’90s by her nephew. At 67, the rendition of Sulochana Teacher is very touching and there is no trace of age related fatigue in her voice one bit. She has proved that music will never age and like her smoothly flowing river, her voice transcends and transports us to a mysterious world. At the saying goes, the gold will never lose its sheen and shine as it gets old and the description is apt in the case of Sulochana Teacher, as the is the shining example of this proverb. The Indian.News is joining our readers in wishing Sulochana Teacher a long and fruitful life.
