Malayalam author, Haris Nenmeni has won the Dr. Sukumar Azhikode Tatvamasi Award 2018-19 for his novel, Maaji, which deals with water as the theme and the international politics over the scarce resource.
Born in Nenmeni village in Wayanad District of Kerala, Mohammed and Aamina Mohammed are Nenmeni’s parents. After graduating in history and pursuing masters in Sociology and Rural Development, he is serving the Revenue Department of Government of Kerala. Also, Nenmeni is serving as Sports Commentator in All India Radio (Akaashavaani) and Little Magazine.
He has received many awards and accolades including Kunjunni Master Literary Award, Kala Kaumudi Katha Award, Puzha.com Story Award, Samasthi Literary Award and more. Nenmeni has also written stories such as Photoshop and Herberium for short films. His other books include Photoshoppum Nannangaadium, Bhoomi Alannedukunnathile Vaishamyangal, Window Seat and Alwar Chandana. Nenmeni is married to Nazeebu and the couple have two children, Aashli and Aashvin. Nenmeni is living in Nenmeni village in Sultan Battery. The Indian News is wishing the writer best wishes.
