SIBF 2019: Malayalam writer Dr. K.P. Sudheera authored two books will be released on November 1

Eminent Malayalam writer KP Sudheera authored two new Malayalam books, titled: Ente Pranayakathakal (My Romantic Fictions), published by Mathrubhoomi Books and Pranaya Ritu (Romantic Season) published by Elita Books will be released at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2019 on November 1.

Dr. K.P. Sudheera is born to KC Padmanabhan and Sarada in Kozhikode District of Kerala. She pursued her schooling from BEM Girls High School and continued her higher studies at Government Arts College and providence Women’s College. After her graduation in Zoology, Sudheera joined Kerala Gramin Bank. She has written books in various genres of Malayalam Literature including novel, poetry, travellogue, autobiography, memoir, translation, newsletters, Children Literature and more. Dr. K.P. Sudheera has written and published in excess of 70 books.


Dr. K.P. Sudheera has won a slew of awards and accolades. In the National Award categories, she has won the Delhi Sahithya Academy Award, Bijapur Taj Muglini Award, Gayathri Award, Mirabai Award (Delhi), Kasthurba Samman, Sriman Aravindashram Award (Assam) and Akkamahadevi Award (Gulbarga). In the category of International awards, Dr. K.P. Sudheera has won several awards including Dubai Art Lovers Association Award, Arangu Award Jeddah, Lingual Harmony Award in London, Daughter of Nile in Egypt, Woman of the Era Award in Tashkent, Lady of the Time Award in Dubai, Daughter of Himalaya Award in Nepal, Sangamitra of the Age Award in Sri Lanka and Minarva of East Award in Saint Petersburg.

At the State level, Dr. K.P. Sudheera has won Lalithambika Antharjanam Award for young literary woman, Mathrubhumi Grihalakshmi Award (twice), Anveshi’s Literary Award, Kesari Balakrishna Pillai Award, Uroob Award, Kodamana Award, Manaseva Puraskaram instituted in the name of Chatampi Swamikal, Aksharam – Vaikom Muhammad Basheer Award, Dharmeekatha – Excellency Award, Giant of 2013 and in in 2017, she won the Vanitha Award instituted in the name of Kamala Surayya, Kala Kairali Award and Thakazhi Award.

Dr. Sudheera has travveled 37 countries in six continents. This year, she travelled with AIPC to ten European nations such as England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Liechester, Switzerland, Austria, Itali and Vatican. Dr. K.P. Sudheer has also bagged the Miss AIPC Europe 2019 Award. In January 2010, the Vikram Shila University had recognised her by conferring her the Vachaspathi Doctorate. What is more, Dr. K.P. Sudheera’s works have been translated to Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada languages. Her husband TM Raghunath is a retired Superintendent from the Providant Fund Office in Kozhikode. The couple have two children, Amith and Athul.
