Deepa PM, writer and Managing Editor of Eye Books Kerala has bagged the Nandanar Sahitya Puraskaram (Nandanar Literary Award) Instituted in the memory of the author, Nanthanar by the Valluvanadan Samskarikavedi (Valluvanadan Cultural Forum).
Deepa has been selected for this award for her short story collection in Malayalam, Atmachaaya, according to the organisers, who announced it at a media conference. This is the first collection of short stories from the native of Naduvannur Kottur in Kozhikode. The award consists of Rs.15,000 cash prize and a statue.
The award will be conferred by the author, CV Balakrishnan on Deepa at an memorial event to be held on April 28, 2019 at Angadippuram Tharakan Higher Secondary School. Ramdas Aalipparambu, Chairman of Valluvanadan Cultural Forum; Sahitya Puraskaram (Literary Award) General Convenor, Nishad Angaadippuram; Satheeshan Aavala, Haarifa Hyder and Sajith Perinthalmanna took part in the press meet.
