A born talent, Veena exponent Anjani Srinivasan has given concerts in excess of 1500 and counting. Started learning Veena at a tender age of just eight years, Anjani’s talent has been acknowledged by Ramjhi, Founder of Issai Mazhai. Disciple of legendary Veena exponent, Kamala Aswatthama and mother of Veena E Gayathri, Anjani Srinivasan has performed pan India and overseas destinations for the the past decade and a half.

Armed with a B Grade from All India Radio, Anjani Srinivasan is the recipient of MS Subbulakshmi Fellowship Award 2018 from Shanmukhananda Sabha, Mumbai. Vice President, Venkaiah Naidu and Maharashtra Governor, Vidyasagar Rao jointly conferred the Fellowship to Anjani Srinivasan at a recent event.

Another awesome effort by Anjani Srinivasan was her attempt, Swaasame and Sollitharava under Vibrant Series cover, from films such as Thenali and Majaa, music composition from AR Rahman and Vidhyasagar respectively.

Anjani Srinivasan, hailing Nanganallur in Chennai has graduate in Commerce from the Madras University. Aswini Srinivasan, her sister is also a prodigy in Mridangam ( In 2013, Anjani Srinivasan launched her first album under the series, Nalaya Nakshathirangal (Tommorrow’s Stars) by Giri Trading.


Anjani Srinivasan has performed across the country and overseas destinations. Notable concerts of Anjani Srinivasan includes the performance at The Music Academy’s Spirit of Youth Series in 2015, Shanmukhananda Sabha in Mumbai, Chembur Fine Arts in Mumbai and more. Anjani Srinivasan has also performs every year at the Veena Festival organised by B Kannan at Narada Gana Sabha in Chennai. Besides that the artist has also performed at VEENOTSAV organised by Mudhra, Tamil Nadu Government Music colleges, Thiruvaiyaru and Chennai (Adyar) and Tirupati Music College respectively.

Anjani Srinivasan was part of the album, Learn to Play Veena with Veena E Gayathri. She has also worked and recorded for Mandolin U Rajesh for one of his dance projects. What is more, Anjani Srinivasan has also performed in many television channels such as Jaya TV, Sankara TV, Doordarshan and more. Anjani Srinivasan gave a concert at Sringeri Saradha Peetam, Kolkatta as part of Navarathri celebrations in 2012.

Another significant concert was the one she gave at Egmore Museum Theatre, organised by the Commissioner of Art and Culture. Anjani Srinivasan has also accompanied for many dance performances, notably Bharatanatyam artists such as Urmila Sathyanarayana. Anjani Srinivasan has give concerts in many prestigious sabhas including Bharatiya Vidya Bhava, Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, Vipanchee Fine arts, Brahma Gana Sabha, Tamil Isai Sangam Madurai and more.

Furthermore, she has also played Veena for film songs devotional albums dance projects and more. Her temple concerts include Sringeri Saradha Temple, Mantralayam Sri Ragavendra Swamy Mutt, Pillayarpatti Temple etc. In fact, this amazing Veena exponent, Anjani Srinivasan had successfully accomplished several records, where others fear to attempt. Consider this: Anjani Srinivasan was part of the ensemble which created a feat with performing for 60 hours non-stop in addition to dabbling with fusion music with various artists on the contemporary film songs in Tamil like Ilayaraja’s masterpieces.

An avid innovator, Anjani Srinivasan also dabbles in fusion concerts, collaborating with a slew of musicians. In the overseas destinations, Anjani Srinivasn has performed Veena concert at Indian Fine Arts Dubai in 2011 and Shri Ragavendra Swamy Temple in Malaysia in 2016.

Anjani Srinivasan has won several accolades for her proven prowess in Veena recital. She is the winner of All India Radio National Level Competition and is a B Grade Artist in 2017, in addition to receiving the coveted Valayapatti Kashyap Child Artiste Award for 2007. Moreover, Anjani Srinivasan won the first price in the Reliance Mobile Ilayaragam Veena Competion in the same year, also bagging Scholarship of Rs.36,000. Anjani Srinivasan also received the Child Prodigy of the Year 2009 from the Rotary and Rotract Club. The Veena talent was also the first runner up of the Pogo Amazing Kids Award 2010.

The Veena prodigy has also received Lalitha Padmanabhan Endowment Award for the category: Junior Veena Artiste from Narada Gana Sabha in 2010. Other majore recogintions that came to Anjani Srinivasan includes Bhavans Cultural Award 2014, winning the title: Bala Kala Rathna from Baalakala Saagaram Trust in 2015, another title of Sangeetha Baktha Sironnmani from Ragavenddra Swamy Temple in Malaysia in the year 2016, yet another title: Naadha Ganga from Sangeetha Kala Peetam Tirupur in 2016, receiving SRA-Promising Artiste 2017 from ITC-Saneet Research Academy, bagging Shakti Sadhana Award from Sudhesi Organisation in 2017, Young Maratha Award from Maharathra Association in Chennai and Kalai Valar Mani Award from the Government of Tamil Nadu in 2019.
