CD of Brinda Punalur poem “Pranaya Jalakam” released
The release of compact disc of the poetry collection of Brinda Punallur, Pranaya Jalakam was held at Kollam Press Club. The CPI Central Control Commission Chairman, Pannyan Ravindran received the CD from Dr. S Rajasekharan, former pro-vice chancellor. Press Club President, Jayachandran Elangath presided over the function. The Executive Member of Sahithya Akademi, Dr. C Unnikrishnan, VS Murari Thanthri, Brinda Punallur, Ashok Kumar and Biju Raj spoke. After the release of the CD, poetry recitation and musical event were also held.
Brinda is one of the well known women writers of Kerala. Born to Advocate N Somarajan and K Sulochana in Punalur, her stories and poems have a peculiar resonance. Pranaya Jalakam, meaning window of love is a beautiful poem. Her other poems include Theekuppayam (Gown of Fire) and Chintikunna Kasera (The Thikinking Chair). A Ayyappan: Narakathinte Vishudha Kavitha (A Ayyappa: Holy Poetry of Hell) is another work of Brinda Punalur which was received well by the readers of Malayalam literature.
